Pcm Logitech, Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 For Mac

The Good The Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K760 has a sleek and stylish design that complements Apple products. An integrated solar panel can charge the keyboard from any light source (including a lamp), so there's no need to replace batteries. And the K760 can pair with three devices (such as Mac, iPad, iPhone) and switch among them at the touch of a button. The Bad Though it's fairly compact, it's a little bulky to carry around with you and no protective carrying case is provided. The Bottom Line With its built-in solar-powered battery, the sleek Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K760 will save you money in the long run and is a better deal than Apple's Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard. From a design standpoint, the K760 is more compact than the K750 and more closely resembles Apple's own Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard with the addition of the strip of solar cells at the top of the unit.

It's sleek and stylish and will certainly fit in well with any Apple products you own. It's ostensibly designed for Apple products, but it works with Bluetooth-enabled Windows computers and Android tablets/smartphones, though it does have a Mac-centric layout with a couple of Mac-only keys. The key feature upgrade here is something that Logitech calls 'Bluetooth connectivity with easy-switching capability.' What that means is you can pair multiple devices - such as a Mac, iPad, or iPhone - and quickly switch among them with the push of a button without having to reconnect. To test it out, I paired the keyboard with an iMac, iPad, and iPhone. To switch among the devices I simply pressed the '1,' '2,' or '3' function keys at the top left of the keyboard (each has a Bluetooth logo on it).

A blue LED lit up when I touched the button, letting me know I was now paired with its corresponding device. It worked flawlessly and is a nice option if you're working with a couple of different Macs or a Mac and and iPad.

I don't see all that many folks using this with their iPhones or iPod Touches, but the option is there. Like the earlier K750 and Logitech's just-introduced Solar Keyboard Folio for iPad, you can charge this keyboard in any light whether it be lamp light or sunlight. Logitech says that - when fully powered - the keyboard works for at least three months, even in total darkness (based on average use per day of 8 hours).

Rated 3 out of 5 by pixelpusher from Solar is Kewl!

It works well. Unifying receiver is great. I was able to use one receiver for my mouse and keyboard with no problem. The solar power works well. Even if you don't have much natural light. My only complaint is the keys aren't as nice as the full-size apple keyboard keys. The keys make a thumpy sound opposed too the clicky sound of the apple keyboard.

And the whole thing is very plasticky:/ Definetely a value oriented product. The green color accent is cool though. I just wish they tacked a solar strip to the apple full size keyboard instead of this plastic board.

If you want a cheap full-size wireless keyboard, this is the best one. Rated 4 out of 5 by AggieTuba1 from Works fine Nice key feel. Slightly different from MacBook Pro keyboard, but does not take too much getting used to. No issue with setup or connectivity. The unified Logitech receiver is so compact you don't really even notice it. I just leave it plugged in, and it allows for the possibility of a mouse or other peripheral to be added. As other reviewers have mentioned, I'd have liked for a caps lock indicator light to have been included.

Isn't this a feature keyboards have had since the 1980s? Otherwise it would be five stars.

We'll see if the solar power continues to work out. I don't see why it wouldn't, but if it breaks, it's game over. Using this keyboard, I can keep my hands at the edge of the desk to promote good posture. I also bought a Bookstand to set behind it to allow me to read and type ergonomically.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Andrew H. From This Item Delivers Bought 2 of these keyboards, one for a coworker and the other for myself. We were more than satisfied from day one on. There are many attributes for this Logitech Keyboard designed for Mac, so I will just list them: Great key spacing, quiet typing, concave key design lets your fingers easily find the right key, design mimics OEM design, wireless connectivity (no wires cluttering the desk), $, and last but not least. The fact that this is solar power means that there is never a worry about needing to have spare AAA or AA batteries laying around. If in need of a Keyboard for your mac, simply look no farther! Rated 5 out of 5 by Stealth from Great Keyboard for a Great Price After shopping around for a keyboard for my laptop, I stumbled across this one in a coworker's office. It's everything I wanted in the manufacturer's Bluetooth keyboard, for the same price.

Most notably, an extended number pad. The solar power works astonishingly well. Using only a 60W lightbulb I can keep it charged up for a very long time. The keys are just as responsive as the manufacturer's version.

Software

All of the function keys work beautifully. It feels sturdy and durable. The unifying receiver stays out of the way and works seamlessly with the keyboard and mouse I'm using.

I would have preferred Bluetooth, but with everything else going for it, I'm ok with overlooking that. Overall, a great keyboard with excellent features for a decent price. Rated 4 out of 5 by Allan from Works well Pros: Nice slim design for afull-size keyboard. Great to have the number pad on the side. Very responsive with no lag time.

Cons: no backlighting (mentioned in reviews). No instruction manual - Nothing more than a brief diagram on box on how to set-up so I nearly missed the USB bluetoothplug-in (stuck in part of the box) and there is a cover over one part of the back of the keyboard that I still have no idea what it does or how to get it off. An odd, elipticalmark under the solar panel suggest some form of coating defect, but so far no impact on performance. Rated 3 out of 5 by Liang from Squeaky keyboard after minimal use This keyboard's been used for probably about a month in total, but the Spacebar already has a squeaky sound when pressed in the middle:(. Separately, this may be more a Mac issue, but when the Mac goes to sleep, the keyboard is unable to wake it. It instead requires me pressing the power button on, which is kind of annoying.

Previously when using a wired keyboard, or even the wireless mack keyboard this was not an issue. I do like the layout of the keyboard, and the solar feature is working as advertised.
